APRIL ACTIVITIES

EARTH DAY TISSUE BOX BOOK

Staple together an egg shaped book. Have students write and illustrate a tale about a bunny in the book. Add bunny hands, feet and head to the book so it looks like a bunny holding an egg.

This fun memory game is great for all ages. Print the bunny and carrot cards on cardstock. Cut them apart and write math problems, sight words, vocabulary words and definitions, questions and answers, etc. Players spread the cards out on the table. Taking turns each player turns over 2 cards. If the cards match, the player keeps the cards. If the cards don't match, the player must place them back in the same spot. Play continues until all cards have been matched.

These origami butterflies have wings that really flap. Use origami paper or colorful construction paper squares to create these fun butterflies. Students can paint, draw or glue decoration on their butterflies.

On light blue paper have students draw a spring picture. They can add all kinds of spring things, but they also need to have a large tree with a branch for a bird's nest. With two colored cotton balls create a bird to put in the nest. Glue on a little orange beak and small black eyes (made with a hole puncher). Have students write a spring poem following this pattern:

                        Spring sings with...

                        adjective noun verb adverb

                        adjective noun verb adverb
